SUMMER READING PROGRAM, 2008
"CATCH THE READING BUG @ YOUR LIBRARY"
- Summer Reading Program 2008 was a-buzz with fun, and the usual stories, crafts, activities and rewards. Many made a bee-line to the library.
- The first program, Monday 7/7/2008: We heard (and saw!) a funny story; saw the library butterfly pavilion; made a sun visor! A small crowd came to see Henry get through his Awful Day.
- Monday 7/14: We saw a Minoa-produced puppet show; made a butterfly magnet! The kids really debated Mr. Brown and Mrs. B's puppets about the moss-covered rock.
- Monday 7/21: We saw Moreland the Magician, once L.A.'s and now N.Y.'s kids' favorite! Biggest crowd of the year, yet.
- Monday 7/28: 78 people of all ages came to see "The Zoo to You" with a scorpion, a box turtle, and a screech owl!
- The program concluded 8/4 with a puppet show, "The Monkey King" from nationally-renowned professional puppeteer Nancy Sanders.
- We set three separate attendance records in 2007. We've had another successful season in 2008.
